A lot had happened in the last few months. James' world had been flipped upside down and it was dizzying. Enough to make him wonder if he was ever going to do anything right. He'd gone from feeling complete within himself to feeling as though he was falling apart entirely. His world had shattered. The racing monkey's were still on an indefinite hiatus and he had the feeling that they weren't ever going to come back together as a band again. Which was both devastating and freeing. And then there had been everything that had gone on between himself and Charlotte. Upon confessing his feelings for her she'd told him about her engagement, which had shattered him. Though they'd moved past it, moved forward. He still hated the thought of being a home wrecker, even though she insisted that he wasn't. He still felt like it sometimes. Though he was trying his best not to dwell on it. Trying his best not to think on it at all. Which was sometimes easier said than done.

Now, however, they'd moved past it. They were no longer just something casual, something flirtatious and sexually driven. Granted, James being the kind of person he was flirtatious and sexual behaviour wasn't going to fade away. Now they didn't have to sneak around, even though there had been a fun element about that, it'd been draining at the same time to be honest. Now she wasn't engaged to someone else. And they were still seeing one another. Which he was absolutely over the moon about. Yes, it still hurt to think that she hadn't been completely honest with him before, but now she was completely honest with him. As far as he knew at least, and he had no reason to believe she wasn't telling him the truth. He'd always been completely honest with her. Well, if you forget about the fact he hadn't told her about his feelings straight away. But could he really be blamed for that. He'd been waiting for the right time. He'd waiting for the perfect opportunity. And, really, it'd all worked out in the end. Hadn't it?

Having just finished work he went home and took a quick shower. They'd arranged for him to spend the night at Charlotte's they'd been taking it in turns spending the night here and there. Though he honestly couldn't get enough of her and he wouldn't have complained about seeing her every day. Even if just for a moment here and there. Though he hadn't seen her for a few days and he was going crazy. He wasn't getting clingy. Was he? Making his way to her apartment, an overnight bag over his shoulder and his other hand behind his back with a bunch of flowers from work. They weren't just the discarded ones, he'd actually chosen them out. He hadn't got them for any reason other than the fact he wanted to get her flowers. He wanted to do something nice for her. Even if it was just a small gesture like buying her flowers. So with a knock on her door he moved them in front of himself a waited for her to answer. Beaming a huge charming smile as she opened the door. ”Hello gorgeous.” The smile never leaving his face. ”I missed you.”

there were so many days in her life that charlotte woke up tired. tired of petty family arguments, tired of being in a relationship where she had to watch what she said or did, tired of having to worry about what she said and who she said it to. since meeting james, it no longer felt like she was waking up wondering whether she was going to step off on the right foot. she looked forward to waking up and knowing that she was going to get to see him or talk to him. charlie hated the thought that she could have ruined this before they even actually started something. there was too much pressure that came with her surname, and although she had spent most of her life trying to shake that, it still crept up on her. it was why she was able to speak to lizzie in an actual sisterly way, rather than in the bitchy way she had managed since she was nine. she could understand the pressure liz had felt, even at that age, so she was trying to make up for all the years she had made her life completely hell. there were still moments that she wanted to put her sister's head through a wall, but she was now able to hold those remarks behind bared teeth, rather than let them fly. she had to thank james for that, or maybe, her family had james to thank for her ability to hold her tongue.

charlotte didn't want to give him any more reasons to doubt her than what she already had. the list of her flaws were endless, despite what she projected to the world, so she had tried to give him every opportunity to get out before either of them got their heart broken, again. she had lied to him, had cheated him, and yet he was still willing to stick things out with her. she knew it spoke more about him than what it did about her. she had warned him about her family, but he still came back after thanksgiving, despite every word that was said at that dining table. her parents didn't like silas, apparently no one had, but that didn't mean they would automatically like james. she was just thankful for brendan and isaac. she imagined that if her brothers weren't the semi sane ones in the family, she very possibly could have stabbed both ryan and liz that evening. although, she should have known that just having james there as an anchor, his hand squeezing her thigh, should have been enough.

she didn't mind going between there apartments, but she almost cherished the nights that he came to her's. it meant there were no interruptions, no roommates, just the two of them. she could have sworn that the two blondes he lived with still gave her dirty looks when they thought no one was looking. the proximity alone was enough to make her reconsider moving, but at the same time, she wanted more space than what she had. she wanted to be able to expand on her business, and whilst she could rent an office space, she hated the idea of not being able to do things in the freedom of her own home. she had to stop herself from flinging herself through the door when she opened it, but the smile on her face only turned wider when she saw the bunch of flowers he had brought her. "oh my god, they're beautiful. they are for me right? you're not just teasing me?" she teased, practically pulling him through the door and into a hug before reaching up to kiss him. he truly was too good for her.

James didn't want to push his luck or sound arrogant, but he felt like perhaps he might have been good for Charlotte. She smiled more now than she had when they'd first met. That had to be a good thing. That had to mean that she was happier. He didn't want to claim that it was all his doing, he knew that it probably wasn't all him. Though it felt like he certainly had a little to do with it. Even if just a tiny bit. He felt he had something to do with it. Though he wasn't arrogant enough to say 'hey I make you happier and you know it'. He wasn't really that kind of person. He'd ask in a much more subtle way but wouldn't take the credit. It'd sound more like 'you look happy today' or 'you're beautiful when you smile'. Paying her compliments with a gentle kiss on her cheek. He liked seeing her smile, liked seeing the way she smiled when he paid her a compliment or did something sweet and didn't think she was paying attention but she actually was an the corners of her lips with twitch upward into the most beautiful smile he'd ever seen.

That smile made him fall more in love with her, though he hadn't said it since that night in her apartment. He was too scared that he was rushing it. Saying it out loud was going to scare her off and he knew it. So he kept his mouth shut but said it without actually saying it. Showed it in gestures like offering to make her dinner or telling her to be safe whenever she went to New York for work or whenever she just went there for fun. Showed it in ways like saying 'sweet dreams' or simply smiling and holding her close whenever he saw her. Or asking her how her day had been and listening intently, genuinely wanting to know how she'd spent her day and what she'd gotten up to. There were plenty of ways of saying it or showing it without actually saying those three little words. Three little words that actually held so much power. The power to change things for the better or worse. But they would most definitely change things. So he kept them to himself.

He liked spending time with Charlotte at his apartment but it felt like they had more personal time when they stayed at hers. They didn't have to worry about Scar and Cat interrupting them. Cat usually kept to herself but Scar was the kind of person that would bash on his bedroom door and call crude things through it. And they both seemed to be shooting Charlie dirty looks here and there. Which he'd asked them to stop, but he understood the looks came from concern and protectiveness. Standing at her door he pulled the flowers from behind his back and grinned as she said they were beautiful then asked if they were actually for her. Though he didn't get a chance to say anything as she pulled him into the apartment and hugged and kissed him. Pulling back slowly as he kicked the door closed. ”Of course they're for you. I wouldn't tease you like that, gorgeous.” He wasn't like that.

so many times she had questioned herself. in the dead of the night when the moon hit her window just right and charlotte murmured awake, it was difficult not to question every decision she made. perhaps if she had been the one to say that she wanted to get into politics or law, then maybe she would have been happier sooner. but instead she'd pushed herself so far away from what her parents wanted for her. at least her brothers were business owners. she had a freaking arts degree. all to piss off her parents and make life apparently happier for herself. it hadn't worked. she thought it had. maybe that was the biggest question she had to ask herself. were you really happy? once upon a time she would have answered that with an unequivocal yes. but james had made her rethink all of that, and she was kidding herself for thinking she was happy. not when she knew happiness now. it felt like she was a little kid again, running through the park with the wind in her hair, chasing after ryan for pushing liz. that feeling of freedom that came with it, was a feeling that she hadn't felt in a while. but whenever she was with james, she had that same feeling come flooding over her.

it was easy to think she was falling for him. charlie knew she had messed with his emotions when she told him that she was engaged. but it was better to be honest at some point than none at all. all in all it had worked out better than none at all. she couldn't let herself lose hope that maybe one day he'd feel that way about her again. her heart all but skipped a beat at the thought. she had thought she would be spending the rest of her life with silas, but that had changed so quickly. she didn't want to rush james into anything that he may not want. so she smiled with all her heart and hoped that he could see just how incredibly happy she was with him. and she was much better at showing people that she cared about them, than actually telling them.

taking the flowers off him, she grinned. "good, because i can't let people who tease me into my home. that just wouldn't be fair," she said, pulling herself away from james ever so slightly so she could see him better. "they're stunning and i love them, thank you," she pulled herself away completely from him, smelling the flowers before walking away from him, and into the kitchen she she could put the flowers in a vase. she finished quickly before going back to him.

in the past james unfortunately hadn't had the best of luck with relationships. in high school he'd been in a relationship with a girl who later cheated on him with one of his friends. apparently they'd been sneaking around behind his back for some time and he hadn't been any the wiser about it. then the situation with charlotte. in a way it was cheating, but at the same time he was helping her cheat on someone else. so in a way he was both the victim and the villain. right? he couldn't be completely innocent in the situation nor was he entirely guilty. after all, he hadn't known about charlotte's engagement. and when he'd found out he'd gotten so hurt, so mad. he'd stopped talking to her. he went on a bender and got completely drunk out of his mind. he was drunk more often than he was sober for a little while.

and then things had changed. charlotte told him she wasn't seeing her ex anymore and they started working through things. honestly, he couldn't lose her. he'd fallen head over heels in love with her. perhaps that was why he should've stayed away from her. though against his better judgement he hadn't stayed away. and now he was happy he hadn't. he enjoyed spending time with her. enjoyed getting to know her. and in a way he felt like he was getting to know her completely and entirely. she was no longer hiding something. even though she'd broken his trust before, she was quickly earning it back. it would still take some time for him to completely trust her, to allow himself to feel what he'd felt before, but the walls were crumbling. they were coming down. quicker than he'd thought they would. she'd left a lasting impression on him, a good one. not just good, great.

”i would never tease you like that.” he said with a charming smile. chuckling softly as she said she wouldn't let people who teased her into her house. that was fair though. frowning slightly as she pulled away having said she loved them. not frowning because she said she loved them, frowning because she moved away. closing the door he set his bag aside and followed her to the kitchen. watching her get a vase and put the flowers in it. all the while he leaned against the door frame. ”they're nowhere near as stunning as you.” eyes on her with a soft smile. maybe it was cheesy, but he meant it. ”want to know something?” he asked, pushing himself away from the door frame and taking her hands in his. ”i'm really glad we're here again. but, you know, better this time.” maybe there was such a thing as second chances. and he believed this was a second chance for them. ”there's nowhere i'd rather be right now. no one else i'd rather be with.” his way of saying how happy he was without actually saying it. smiling before leaning down and closing the distance between them and kissing her. letting go of her hands and wrapping his arms around her to pull her closer.

charlotte was the type of person who went after what she wanted regardless of the consequences. so when she decided that she wanted to have her cake and eat it too, when it came to silas and james, she had wanted to keep her marriage in a way to save face, but she wanted the fun and thrill of being with james. it was foolish to think it could last. she didn't think it would end in her own heartbreak, but when james had looked at her like she had utterly broken him, charlotte's own heart broke for him. at that point, she couldn't have cared what silas decided to do, all she wanted to do was fix things with james. he thrilled and excited her, and she kept wanting to go back for more. that was what had got her into trouble in the first place.

but now she felt like they were finally at a place where they could be happy together. she still spoke to silas occasionally, but it was as friends and nothing more. she liked it that way, the two of them were much too similar to be in a relationship together, let alone getting married. but as friends, she was comfortable. when she looked at james, she couldn't think of anything worse than knowing him the way she did now and then having to go back to being just friends. that was a nightmare that she didn't want to relive in real life. so when he finally took her back, despite grovelling not being something she ever thought she'd have to do as a clarke, she was thrilled.

"well you can tease me a little bit," she said, dropping her voice slightly and raising her eyebrow at him. he could be charming all he wanted as long as she still got to be flirty. she felt like he belonged in her apartment. she liked seeing him there. she enjoyed the thought of waking up in the morning and if she couldn't roll over and find him next to her, knowing that she couldn't easily walk into the kitchen or lounge room and find him there. it would be different once she found a house, but she wasn't dwelling on that too much. "i would argue about that with you, but i really don't want to," she said with a smile. she finished putting the flowers in the vase and placed them on the bench where she would still be able to see them from the lounge. as he spoke, her smile only grew on her face. he made her so freaking happy and she loved that about him. "i'm really happy we're here too. and i don't want anybody else, either," she couldn't believe how happy he made her, but she wouldn't change it for the world. as he kissed her, charlotte felt the warmth spread from where their lips touched to the rest of her body. as he pulled her closer, her body felt like it was hitting fire, she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself up onto her toes so she could kiss him better.

things had been rocky between the two of them for a little while once everything had come out into the open, but he was happy that things had worked out the way that they had. he didn't want to think about what might have happened had charlotte not felt anything for him at all. if she hadn't felt anything they wouldn't be here right now. she wouldn't have talked to him again and tried to get back in his good graces. she'd hurt him, but she'd seen how much she'd hurt him and had actually been willing to do something to fix it. that had to mean that she cared for him in some way or another, right? if she didn't care she wouldn't have bothered to try and fix things. she wouldn't have bothered to try to get him to talk to her again. she wouldn't have made an effort. yet she had made an effort, she had tried. so that told him that she did actually care.

though he'd gotten that feeling that night he'd told her how he felt and she'd told him about her fiance at the time. he'd seen the way it was hurting her to have to tell him, because she could see it hurt him. and it clearly hurt her seeing what she'd done to him. he was glad things had gone back to the way they had been before, or even better actually. there was no more having to sneak around. granted, at the time he hadn't known that's what they were doing. he'd just thought of it as something fun and spontaneous. which was what it still was, but it was different. something about it felt different. in a good way of course. an amazing way. a great way. and he wouldn't have changed it for the world. yes, it would've meant that he wouldn't have gotten his heart broken and that would've been fantastic. but at the same time he was kind of grateful for the way it'd happened. because it had made him grow as a person. made him realise that sleeping around with various people wasn't what he wanted to do. all he wanted was her.

”i feel like you'd prefer me to tease you in a different way though. not with flowers.” he said with a playful wink as he dropped a hand to the bottom of his shirt and pulled it up slightly, revealing the lower half of his toned abdomen. winking again as he dropped the shirt back down and watched her get a vase and put the flowers and some water into it. wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close as she spoke about also being happy they were here and not wanting anyone else. a charming smile on his lips before he pulled her close for a kiss, never wanting it to end. bending down slightly to hook his hands under her knees and lift her up and holding her there so she didn't need to be on her toes. carrying her blindly to the living room. not needing to see where he was going because he'd walked around her apartment so many times it was ingrained in his mind. sitting on the couch, placing her on his lap. only breaking the kiss momentarily before continuing it again.

charlie couldn't believe how relieved she had felt when james had agreed to give her a second chance. she normally walked away when someone gave any inclination that they weren't interested in her anymore, she was the first to call it quits, to run and keep running until she forgot about them. even when silas first began showing her that he wasn't invested in their relationship, charlotte started moving on so her heart wasn't broken when ultimately their relationship fell apart. and it did, and she was completely fine. but with james, she had not prepared herself for heartbreak. so she had fought to get him back, was still fighting to prove to him that she was right for him, that she wanted him and no one else. it went against every particle of her being, against a plethora of past relationships that showed she was quick to move on when things went wrong, but she didn't want to be that anymore. she wanted to be with james and it was as simple as that.

sometimes it was difficult to believe that james would want to be with someone like her. he was so free spirited, whereas charlotte needed to have everything meticulously planned. but he had been teaching her his ways, to the point where she was no longer bothered if he knocked on her door unexpectedly. he made her let go of her need to control absolutely every aspect of what was happening around her. he was so different to any of the other guys she had met, the ones who wanted to change her, control her. james didn't do that, but he had made her a happier person which meant that she was changing within herself. she liked that. she felt like every day was a new experience for her.

"if you were going to tease me with just flowers, i would be extremely disappointed in you," she said, laughing at him slightly when he lifted the hem of his shirt before wolf whistling. he was utterly ridiculous, and she loved it. charlie liked being able to make him smile at her like that. she moaned slightly as he lifted her up and wrapped her legs around his waist. she thoroughly enjoyed the fact that he didn't have to stop kissing her to make his way through her apartment. she was eager to continue their kiss as he sat back on her couch and she straddle him.

James wasn't usually the guy that gave second chances. As harsh as that might have sounded and as unlike him it might have seemed. As a teenager his one and only relationship had fallen apart when he'd been cheated on. So second chances weren't in his nature. Instead he'd turned into the kind of guy that tried to steer clear of personal attachments and stuck to the physical rather than the emotional. Which might have seemed cold and distant, but that's exactly how he'd liked it. Exactly how he'd wanted it to be. And with Charlotte that's how it had started. But it'd changed. Something about her drew him in. something about her was different. Intriguing.

No matter how hard he tried to distract himself and not think about her, he found himself more and more drawn to her. He found himself falling hard and fast, which wasn't common for him. He didn't fall fast. Because he never opened himself up freely. As open and free spirited he liked people to believe him to be, he was more closed off than anyone may have realised. But Charlie had broken through all those walls and then he'd almost instantly regretted it. She'd hurt him, badly. Though something in him told him to let her back in when she'd come back for a second chance. And he had. And so far he wasn't regretting it, and he had a feeling he wouldn't. Perhaps he was trusting her again too soon, but he didn't feel like it was like that. He felt that she was being completely honest with him now. She wasn't hiding anything. Not anymore. And now she was in his life again, in a better way than before. And he loved it. He loved her, he just hadn't said it. Because he was still scared.

So instead, he went for the physical again as usual. ”I'd never want to disappoint you, babe.” He grinned as he lifted his shirt and showed off a little. He was playful, flirtatious and maybe even a little ridiculous. But she seemed to like it so he wasn't about to change. Picking her up and moving through the apartment blindly without breaking their kiss. He'd walked around her apartment that many times he could do it blindfolded. Or with his eyes closed, in this case. Sitting on the couch he let his hands wander absently up along her legs, slowly pushing under the hem of her shirt as he leaned up and closed the distance between their lips again. Kissing her in a much needier, hungrier manner than he had before. Holding her close, hands coming to rest on her waist just beneath her shirt. ”How'd I get this lucky.” He mumbled against her lips.

she wasn't quite sure where along the way her luck had turned to good. charlotte knew that without a doubt that luck had everything to do with james deciding to forgive her. if she had been in his position, regardless of what her heart was telling her, she would have walked away and never looked back. but james was a much better person than she ever would be, and so all she could do was count her lucky stars that he had chosen to forgive her for what she had done to him, rather than walk away without a second glance. the thought of not being able to message him when she woke up, not being able to see his face, to kiss him whenever she liked, it hurt her heart to think about about. she didn't want to think about it. she felt like they had put that behind them, like she didn't have to make up for that little mistake anymore. but she would continue to try and make up for it, to apologize for it in little ways each and every day that she could.

charlotte generally looked at people and relationships as companionship, nobody had ever really captured and kept her interest, without drama, for so long, with the exception of james. she hadn't wanted to get married before meeting silas, and even then, both of them were only really doing it to appease their parents, despite their distaste for them. she didn't want children, because it would feel like she was stuck with a person. she didn't view romance the way brendan or lizzie, or isaac viewed romance. as much as it pained her to admit, perhaps she was a little too much like ryan. but when she met james, and even more so after he took her back, she could see the white picket fence in her future. she still wasn't sure about children, but maybe that would come in time. she wouldn't hold out for it, but if it came, she was willing to embrace anything and everything with him.

"i don't think you could, even if you were trying," she said, the smile not fading from her face. it felt like the smile was a permanent fixture to her face whenever charlotte was around james. she didn't think anyone would make her as happy james managed to do, every time she saw him. she shook her head at him as he continued his antics, she never ask him to stop though. she loved it too much. as soon as they were on the couch, she leaned into him more, her weight now pushed into the couch instead of him. he impressed her with new things each and every day, today, it was his knowledge of her apartment, and the way his fingers ran up her legs. she pushed in more, and moved her hands to the hair at the nape of his neck and thread her fingers through it as they continued the kiss. she was soon needing air, and as he pulled away, she rested her forehead against his. "i don't know, i'm pretty sure i'm the lucky one," she countered, enjoying the feel of his fingers on her skin.

James honestly didn't think he'd ever get enough of Charlotte. And that was saying a lot considering that until recently he'd been the kind of guy that swore of relationships entirely. Because of the fact he hadn't had the easiest relationship in the past so he'd been keen to just steer clear of them entirely. And then he'd developed feelings for Charlotte which had changed his mind. A spanner had been thrown in the works, however, when she'd informed him of her engagement. Which, until that moment, he hadn't known a single thing about, again making him what to swear off relationships entirely. In the time they'd spent apart he hadn't been able to get her off his mind. He'd gotten drunk in an effort to do just that, get her off his mind, and yet that still hadn't worked. He'd found himself wanting to call or text her. Had found himself almost going to her apartment in an attempt to see her, which was far too easy considering they lived in the same building.

Now, though, things were getting better. As much as he tried not to be, James was a very forgiving person. Which he felt would probably be the death of him one day. It hadn't been so far. And when she'd asked for another chance, telling him that her engagement was off and the fiance was a thing of the past, he'd jumped at the chance to see her again. Maybe a little too quickly, but was done was done and there was no changing that now. And here they were. In her apartment, seeing one another again. He was back to being his usual, goofy self. Doing anything just to make her smile, and he honestly couldn't be happier. No longer determined to swear off relationships and all they entailed. Willing to give it another chance. Just for her.

”You think so?” He'd managed to make his way through her apartment practically blindfolded. Better, eyes closed while kissing her. He'd been in her apartment enough times to be able to move his way around it with his eyes closed. Getting them to the couch he sat down and let her straddle his lap. Hands instantly starting to explore her. Something he would never grow tired of. Never get enough of. Kissing her like it was the last time he was ever going to get a chance to do so. Until they were both almost entirely breathless. Breaking the kiss he smiled up at her as her forehead came to rest against his. Finding it physically impossible to wipe the smile off his face whenever he was around her. Though that was most certainly not a bad thing. Not at all. ”How'd you figure that?” He asked, cocking an eyebrow and smirking playfully. ”How about we agree to both of us being lucky?”

James was intoxicating. He was the type of person that charlotte genuinely enjoyed being around. She craved his attention, wanted his hands on her at all times when they were in the vicinity of one another. She wanted to know what he was thinking, what he had done that day, whether he had thought about her, it was all consuming and she was enjoying every second of it. She hadn't been the type of woman who surrendered themselves completely in a relationship, she still liked to maintain some semblance of independence, but where James was concerned, she was sure that if he asked, she would surrender herself completely. She felt it was surely that easy. That had never been the case in any of her previous relationships. Her heart had been protected by her independence, with silas, she had kept her apartment for so long that people started to question their relationship, and rightly so. She hadn't left anything at his place, hadn't offered to keep anything of his at her's, but already that was different with james. There were shirts of his in her closet, and whilst she hadn't left anything of her own at his place on purpose, she was more worried about his roommates doing something to her stuff. She had broken his heart after all, she wouldn't have been completely angry if they did do something to her things.

She honestly couldn't get over how much she cared for him sometimes. The moments that other people would have overlooked but seemed so important to her. That moment when he woke up and looked at her with sleep heavy eyes and a sleepy smile on his face, they were perhaps her favorite moments. But moments like now, where he was being goofy and keeping the smile on her face no matter how ridiculous he was, they were also favorites. It was possible that now they had sorted out the mess she had put them in, every moment that James was in, was Charlie's favorite.

"I know so," she responded, in between kisses and trying to not let herself get distracted by the way he was walking through her apartment. She wondered how long it would take them to learn any of the houses she was currently looking at purchasing. The kisses were fervent, needy even, and Charlie loved it. She dragged her hands down from the nape of his neck, fingernails digging in as she trailed over the muscles of his shoulders and down his back. The kisses left her breathless, her heart pounding heavy in her chest. She forced herself to breathe through her nose as she reflected his smile back at him. "Because I have you," she counted, sitting a bit more heavily in his lap as she rested more of her weight on him. "I think I can agree with that," she nodded, kissing him lightly on the nose.

James didn't consider himself a great guy. He had his flaws, everyone did. He wasn't perfect, no one was. Though he hadn't deserved to be treated the way that he was. He slept around, not a lot, but enough for people to probably assume that's all he ever wanted. Plus these days people often assumed that being a guy meant you were just after sex. He was different than that. Though he could see why people thought that. After all, that's how he and Charlie's relationship had started. It'd been purely physical. Then he'd fallen for her. He hadn't known about her engagement. And, that would have stopped him, had he know. And when he had found out he'd been heartbroken. He'd always tried to emotionally distance himself from people so as not to get attached and not to risk getting hurt. But something about Charlotte was different. Something kept drawing him back in and he couldn't stay away.

Which was why he'd been so willing to forgive her. After all, didn't everyone deserve a second chance. She'd come clean with him, in the end, and that had to mean something. Didn't it? It meant that she cared enough to tell him the truth and no longer lead him on. Granted, she'd initially led him on, but the fact that she had been honest and told him the truth about it all actually meant a lot to him. Even though it'd left him hurt, angry and heartbroken. He believed that if she hadn't been honest and he'd found out through someone else they wouldn't be here right now. In this situation. Were they dating? He didn't know. Then again it didn't really matter. Did it? What mattered, to him, was that they were being honest and they were enjoying one another's company. And they were. A lot. And he really liked it. He really liked her.

”Mhm.” He practically hummed against her lips as he walked through her apartment. Eyes closed, not needing to look. He could do it blindfolded, well he practically was already. Now on the couch the kissing continued as she straddled his lap. Smiling as the kiss was broken and he looked up at her, seeing her reflect his smile back at him. ”Now you're just being cute.” He teased playfully as he let his arms wrap around her comfortably as she sat a little heavier on him and rested more of her weight on him. ”Good.” A charming smile on his lips as she kissed him lightly on the nose. Leaning up and kissing her softly on the lips. Letting out a soft content sigh as he leaned back into the couch a little. Just smiling up at her.
